I walked in light.

Searing, pulsing rays

My body soaking it up

With the certainty of passion,

Iridescent temptations

Testing my then tender soul

Now blushing.

I walked in gray.

Leaves of confusion

Swirling about me

A trail of red tears

Mourning those moments of summer,

Glimpses of joy,

Unacknowledged truths,

The lousy timing of good byes.

I walk in black.

Into misted woods

Long silvered in mossy gauze

My ears straining toward

A faint song

Calling me still

I walk in black

Through red tears.
